At a glance: There are few places in the world where you will wake up to see the mighty Himalayas reflected in the calm waters of a lake surrounded by lush green terraced hills. The postcard destination of Nepal, this gives you good mix of city comforts and rural beauty.

Situated at the base of the panoramic Annapurna Himal, Pokhara is 198 km west from Kathmandu. It is famous for the peaceful Phewa Lake and the magnificent views of the Annapurna range; it’s crowning glory being the iconic Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) mountain. Our volunteers here often take the chance to do treks into the Annapurna Sanctuary ranging from the 5 day Poon Hill trek to the full 18 day loop of the Annapurna Sanctuary.
If you choose to work at a placement in Pokhara you will be in a developed homestay near the centre of town. This will have a flush toilet and perhaps a warm shower. You will also be within a short distance of all the tourist infrastructure of internet cafes and restaurants.
Kaskikot:Teaching in Schools, Health (Camp, Clinic), Construction
Kaskikot is a beautiful Himalayan village just 8km west of Pokhara. There is a rough track to get there and it feels very remote perched up on the hillside surrounded by rice terraces. It’s main attraction is the mountain backdrop of the Annapurna range. As you are high on the ridge you have unrivalled views across to Annapurna 1 (8,091m) and the peaks stretching off to East and West.
We offer teaching placements, health clinic work and construction projects in the village. You will be living in a simple homestay in keeping with the rural setting of the village. This means a pit toilet and minimal piped running water.
