Volunteering in Pokhara
A lot of our volunteers are volunteering in Pokhara at the moment. They are volunteering at several different placements where the volunteers are needed most. All the volunteers are staying at one of our amazing homestays called Rekhas Home Pokhara. Physiotherapist from Austria, Lisa French has just concluded her three weeks volunteering at Physiotherapy Hospital. From the 1st of November a medical student from The Netherlands Iris Jansen started her medical elective clerkship at the Western regional Hospital. A Dutch couple, Jos & Willemien after finishing their work at the monastery in Salleri, joined volunteering in Pokhara. They are bringing lot of changes together with teaching at a Early Childhood Montessori School in Pokhara. Peggy Baltes from Germany is helping as a sports teacher at the same school and also doing all the needful maintenance works over there. Physiotherapist from Belgium, Tanja Vlyder is volunteering at Disabled Children Care Centre. After finishing the Annapurna Base Camp Trek with VSN, Nona Lore Keiren started teaching at Growing Bud Montessori School. Cristina Travan from Australia will soon join her on 6th of November after her work at Centre for Children with Intellectual Diasbilities in Kathmandu.
Volunteer Society Nepal does not have its office in Pokhara, but our host family, the school managements and all other placements take great care of our the volunteers as their own family members.
The details of the help from the Dutch couple Jos & Willememien will be published as soon as they finish their program at Kaskikot in Pokhara.
