We start a guided tour to four of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. Kathmandu Durbar Square holds the palaces of the medieval Kings who ruled over the then Kathmandu Kingdom. Pashupatinath houses a sacred lingum, or the phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. The Aryaghat alongside Pashupati and on the banks of the Bagmati River is a famous funeral site for the Hindus. The Buddhists shrine of Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas in the world, and one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage and tourist destinations in Kathmandu. The area of Boudhnath is also famous for over 50 Tibetan Gompas or monasteries. We would like you to experience the real life of Nepal so that we would like to show you how schools are run and students are taught. This school is totally funded by our company.

We start our trip about 7 am in the morning and head north out of Kathmandu driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syabrubensi, the first part of the drive up to Trishuli Bazaar is quite smooth, then the path moves along the gravel road and overnight at Lodge. Tamang Heritage Trail is not so far from Kathmandu, the road is hilly and winding (though spectacular), climbing high and providing us with superb panoramic views of the Annapurnas, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the peaks of the Langtang region.

We start our trek and experience of the Tamang culture and see scenery from view point, this day we walk through villages, the cultural show at Goljung and Gatlang makes our trekking a memorable one, Gatlang set high on a hillside among terraced fields is a Tamang settlement and one can visit a Tamang monastery and beautiful Parvatikunda Lake at Gatlang, overnight at lodge/home stay.

We start our trek and today, we enjoy sightseeing of Langtang range and Ganesh Himal, At Tatopani which naturally signifies ‘hot water’, we can take hot bath in natural hot springs with bathing areas in the lap of the mountains and It is believed that taking a dip into this spring would heal from our aches and pains, this day’s trekking provides us an opportunity to experience of the Tamang culture, overnight at lodge.

We start our trek and the trek goes via Bimthang, we can encounter animals like monkeys and deer on the way, the panoramic view of Langtang, Kerung, Ganesh Himal, Sanjen ranges can be distinctly experienced from Nagthali and the Nagthali used to be a popular meditation center for the local monks and priests and another cultural village Thuman is popular for its shamanic performances and beautiful view of Langtang, overnight at lodge.

We start our trek and the trek along a flatter section of trail, then descends to Timure. It follows part of the old trade route to Tibet, and in fact, Tibet is not far away—just three hours’ walk. However, it’s not possible to walk across the border these days, and there’s a heavy police presence along the roads in this area. After lunch, the trail continues to Briddim, another Tamang village, where you’ll stay in a local home for a truly unique experience. All accommodation, lodgings, and food are offered at local houses on a rotational basis, so you can be sure that your stay is benefitting the whole community and not just one or two enterprising families (as is sometimes the case with hotels and lodges).

We start our trek to Syaprubeshi via Wangel, the trail moves gentle descent passing through villages, terraces and magnificent views of surrounded hills, reach Syaprubeshi and overnight at lodge.

We start our drive to Kathmandu and it takes about 9 hours, it is a pleasant drive back to Kathmandu with marvelous views of hills, mountains, terraces and villages check in to the hotel and overnight at hotel.

Our journey in Nepal comes to an end today! A Volunteer Society Nepal representative will drop us off at the airport approximately 3 hours before our scheduled flight. On our way to home, we have plenty of time to plan our next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
Note: The above-mentioned program itinerary is a sample. The period and cost of volunteering, internship, tour and trekking can be changed or extended as per volunteers' availability of duration.
