Working in Nepal (volunteer at CBIA school) as a volunteer has been a rewarding experience for me. Not only was I allowed to teach about Belgium/Europe and French language, for me a first time experience. Also the school looks a lot better now with the extra liters of paint I applied. Teaching Nepal children is very rewarding because they are very eager to learn. To my surprise a little girl came to me while painting yesterday and said: ‘bonjour, comment ca va’ and it must have been more than 2 weeks since my last French lesson. I should not forget the warm welcome from Dilkumar and his family, the excellent and variated meals prepared by his wife. Was it all perfect? Well, I missed the interaction with other volunteers. But this is off-course not the blame of Volunteer Society Nepal but some stupid virus putting the world in lockdown.
