Pokhara

Volunteer in Pokhara: Experience the relaxed lakeside living that has made Pokhara a top destination in Nepal

Pokhara at a Glance

There are few places in the world where you can wake up to see the mighty Himalayas (Pokhara) reflected in the calm waters of a lake, surrounded by lush green terraced hills. The postcard destination of Nepal gives you good mix of city comforts and rural beauty: there are many nice restaurants and bars scattered along the Lakeside and just outside of Pokhara are the most amazing walking trails. There are also plenty of adventurous sports to conduct such as mountain biking, paragliding and bungy jumping.

The Mountains around Pokhara

Situated at the base of the panoramic Annapurna Mountain range, Pokhara is 198 km west of Kathmandu. It is famous for the peaceful Phewa Lake and the magnificent views of the Annapurna range; it’s crowning glory being the iconic Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) mountain. Our volunteers here often take the chance to do treks into the Annapurna Sanctuary ranging from the 5 day Poon Hill trek to the full 14 day loop of the Annapurna Sanctuary.
